Sessions
9-30-10:15
We welcome the children into the nursery and engage in free play.
Some examples of our free play options include
Sensory play
Stimulating our senses with media such as sand, foam, rice, gloop, paint, water, compost, bubbles, food-tasting and music.
Construction
Helping to enhance fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, spatial reasoning, problem solving, creativity and social skills. We have tool kits and foam bricks for children to practice their architecture skills as well as duplo and blocks. Child-sized wheelbarrows are also available for those larger projects!
Arts and crafts
Fostering cognitive and fine motor skills and aiding creative development. Children can practice their self-expression and boost their imagination. Crayons, playdough and painting are usually the most enjoyed, but we also have a range of media for budding artists to choose from.
Role play
Nurtures their imagination and helps encourage children's language and communication development. Doctors and nurses, along with police officers are some of our favourites, whilst our play kitchen area is used regularly to help treat the dollies to a tasty treat!
Reading
We feel its important to foster a love of reading in children from an early age. Helping them expand their vocabulary and aiding them in making connections between stories and their own experiences. A range of information and story books are available to settle down with in our cosy book corner.
10:15
Snack time
We strive to provide a healthy, nutritious snack in an environment where children can take responsibility by choosing and serving themselves their own snacks and tidy up after themselves by putting leftover food in the food bin, and plates and cups in a bowl ready to be washed.
Some examples of our snack include a variety of fruits and veg such as banana, apple, pear, strawberries, nectarines, carrots and cucumbers. Crackers, Breadsticks and toast are firm favourites along with pasta and noodles with sweetcorn!
10:45
Prepare to go outside
Children are encouraged to put on their own jacket and shoes independently. Don't forget the waterproofs and wellies! (Or sunhats and suncream on those rare sunny days!)
11- 11:25

Play in the garden is child led and there are loads of fun activities to choose from.

11:25-11:30
Tidy up and song time

Say goodbye to all our friends with our special Tick Tock song.
Special Outings
We regularly arrange outings to different places within the community such as the library, the local shop, the care home, the fire station and on occasion, Dizzy's, our local soft play!
The children are brought one at a time to the door to be collected.
You will get an update on how their day went and you can collect their artwork and other items.
